Abstract
In this paper, Lyapunov approach is applied to study stability and stabilization for linear periodically time-varying descriptor systems. First, a Lyapunov function is found, and a Lyapunov equation is established, then the necessary and sufficient conditions for strong asymptotical stability are obtained. Further, a corresponding Riccati equation is proposed, and then the stabilization problems of the systems are studied by using the Riccati equation. Finally, two numerical examples are used to illustrate the main results
