WHISTLEBLOWER Edward Snowden??s claims about US spying are coming to roost. The European Parliament??s powerful Civil Liberties committee voted for sweeping new data protection regulations last month, which include much tougher restrictions on sharing data with non-EU states. Companies that violate the rules face fines of up to 5 per cent of annual global turnover.
