Abstract
China´s data privacy regulations contrast sharply with other major economies owing to internal and external pressures the Chinese government faces. Whereas the EU places high priority on protecting personal data and the US emphasizes self-regulation by businesses, China´s regulations focus on cybercontrol measures.
