Abstract
This paper proposes a low switching frequency predictive control scheme for the induction machine, employing a 3L-NPC. The mismatch between sampled and average current is modeled and compensated. The control strategy is implemented as an explicit model predictive controller with PWM, considering a sampling time of 1[ms], which results in a 500[Hz] switching frequency. The results show that the controller achieves a fast dynamic response and an excellent steady state current tracking.
