Abstract :
Considering the influence of compensation on transmission capability, the paper analyzes the effect of series and parallel compensation on reliability of transmission system from the perspective of operating reliability theory. Using PSD-BPA simulating the operation of example system, we can obtain the lower threshold and higher threshold of the lines, taking terminal and current into account. Based on the above analysis, we can acquire the reliability indexes of the transmission system. Finally, the paper draws a conclusion that either series or parallel compensation can raise the reliability level of transmission system.
