Abstract :
In high-rise building fire, fire rescue may be restricted by equipment predetermined control program of traditional smoke control strategy. Time will be obtained for human evacuation if the control strategies can be adjusted in accordance with smoke condition. Modified smoke control strategy using several closed systems to adjust strategy of door controllers, HVAC controllers and smoke exhaust fan controllers based on real-time information of sensors and videos could save the time for occupant evacuation. In this paper, the effects of modified smoke control strategy will be studied. A smoke propagation model using Zone Model will be developed to study the smoke propagation under different modified control strategies. Simulation results show the effects of door controllers and HVAC controllers. Results also show modified smoke control strategy combining two methods can save time and improve air condition for evacuation.
