Abstract
Switched reluctance motor (SRM) had gained attention now a day because it has vantages like simple construction, low cost, high fault tolerance. This motor can be used at high speed in low voltage and at variable speed applications. In this motor the losses are less and the efficiency is more because there are no windings on the rotor. In this paper the low-cost and the low-voltage dual decay converter topologies are discussed for the 8/6 switched reluctance motor. Also a closed loop control is proposed for each converter topology. Finally the simulation results in MATLAB/SIMULINK are presented. Constant speed is obtained in closed loop control.
