Abstract :
With increase in the technology the demands of the people are increasing as people are more interested in the internet facilities with higher data rate. Although 3G technologies deliver significantly higher bit rates than 2G technologies, “LTE” (3GPP Long Term Evolution), brought a boom in the field of technologies with new facilities like Internet applications or mobile broadband (Voice over IP (VoIP), video streaming, music downloading, mobile TV and many others applicable) everywhere. In this paper we will make an overview on the new LTE technology handover procedure. Also we will cover some of the handover algorithms and performance issues with those algorithms.
