Abstract
Constant temperature anemometers (CTA) have been extensively studied in the literature, normally using NTC or PTC thermoresistive sensors. A comparative analysis of the sensitivity of CTA configurations using PTC and NTC is carried out in this work. A methodology for the design of the CTA that yields maximum sensitivity for this configuration is proposed. Furthermore, simulations using typical sensors are presented for supporting the theoretical analysis. The results show that the system performance using both types of thermoresistive sensors is practically the same.
