  • Abstract
    Proper dispostion of terminal air defense system (TADS) has a significant effect on air defense task fulfillment from the military and economic perspectives. In this paper, two dispostion concepts including firing range covering and firing angle covering are proposed, and the corresponding integer programming models are developed respectively to optimize dispostion solutions. The conclusion that dispostion solution obtained with firing angle concept is more effective than that obtained with firing range concept is proved, and an example is given to illustrate the conclusion. The study in this paper is also applicable to the disposition of such weapons as anti-tank missiles and neutralizing guns.
