Abstract :
Cognitive map knowledge-based strategic simulation is proposed for effective strategic planning. Cognitive-map-based casual knowledge provides overall interrelationships between strategic goals and environmental factors which affect strategic planning and allows strategic planning systems to adapt to the changes in surrounding environments. Without such knowledge, it is difficult for decision makers to identify those factors relevant to the strategic goals being considered. A detailed numerical example is presented to illustrate the performance of the proposed strategic planning simulation mechanism
