Abstract :
A family of lifting based integer wavelet transform (IWT) that is parametrised in a simple manner by one free parameter is presented in this paper. The coefficients of the lifting filters in this family are binary numbers and therefore can be implemented efficiently without using any multipliers. By adjusting the free parameter, IWT with different properties and characteristics can be obtained. Included in this family is the well known MIT ´9/7´ pair which is known to be effective for image coding. A study of the non-linearity of this family of IWT is also performed.
