Abstract
Mismatch-shaping is used in lowpass and bandpass delta-sigma converters to shape the errors caused by element mismatch in multi-bit modulators. Quadrature delta-sigma converters use a pair of DACs whose elements must match well in order to prevent image signals and image noise from corrupting the band of interest. By treating the elements of each DAC as part of a common pool, it is possible to generalize the mismatch-shaping concept to multi-bit quadrature modulators.
