Abstract
In this paper, the characteristics of the Mur´s first order absorbing boundary condition (ABC) and uniaxial anisotropic perfectly matched layer (UPML) absorbing boundary condition in unconditionally stable locally one-dimensional (LOD) finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method are studied. The numerical examples illustrate that the Mur´s ABC can be used in the LOD-FDTD, while UPML-ABC may exhibit very bad absorbing effect when utilized in the LOD-FDTD method.
