Abstract :
A gas well produces a fluid called wet gas that also contains small amounts of condensate and water. At some point in the life of the well it may also start to produce saline formation water. For the control of the well it is important to be able to measure the flow of the individual components, especially to be able to detect to onset of production of formation water. The paper describes the wet gas meter that Roxar has developed for this purpose, and especially the latest addition - the formation water detection function. The measurement principle, performed tests, and first applications are described.
