Abstract :
Detection of heart diseases from heart sound signal needs an efficient segmentation algorithm to properly identify location of first and second heart sounds which helps in characterizing murmurs present in the cardiac cycle and in turn the pathological condition. The work presented here needs only heart rate as auxiliary information which can be easily provided unlike most of the methods which require electrocardiograph (ECG) signal in a complex setup. The result is presented for 35 pathological problems for 5 different sampling rates.
