Abstract
• Suggested Minimum Set of Sensors needed for DAA — ADS-B (In/Out) and TCAS II for Cooperative Traffic — Airborne Radar and (likely) and EO/IR Based Sensor for Non-Cooperative Traffic • Some Open Issues — Is TCAS II needed to Independently Validate ADS-B (In) Data? — Single or Dual Frequency ADS-B (In)? — Can ADS-B data be validated sufficiently for use in a DAA system for providing a ‘Resolution Advisory’? — Are the ‘realizable’ Radar performance characteristics sufficient for DAA without an EO/IR sensor on-board? — Does a UA need to detect non-cooperative aircraft outside of clouds when the UA is inside of clouds?
