Abstract
In recent years, vector control schemes for linear induction motor drive systems have obtained wide acceptance in high performance applications. This paper deals with the indirect vector control of linear induction motor (LIM) in order to control the speed and thrust output of the linear induction motor drive. The dynamic model of LIM considering end effect is derived. Then the end effect on the performance of LIM is analyzed. Finally the control strategy based on indirect vector control is presented. The simulation results show that the control system has the quick speed response and the robust thrust characteristics.
