Abstract :
True integrated services for the 1990s should focus on the required services and not the transmission path of either narrowband ISDN or wideband ISDN. Integrated services for the 1990s will utilize computers and telephony switching equipment to provide solutions to customer needs. While ISDN will play a role in these services, LANs and other computer interfaces will also have a major role in the solutions. The switch to the computer applications interface concept will provide major opportunities for businesses to improve their telephony communication systems
