Abstract
Discusses the chaotic phenomena of an active axon. We first show the transmission characteristics for the chaotic pulses along the active axon. Next we discuss the transmission characteristics for the chaotic pulses in a simple recurrent circuit. As a result, it is first shown that the chaotic time series of the amplitude of the cell-body´s potential can be transformed to complex time series of the interspike interval of the axon´s action potential by propagating along the active axon. It is also verified that the complex time series of the interspike interval of the axon´s action potential can be kept in the recurrent circuit. From these results, it is suggested that the chaos in the amplitude can be transformed to a different type of chaos and the chaos can be kept in neural networks
