Abstract :
A class of narrowband nonlinear CPFSK signals is introduced by extending the known nonlinear CPM signals. Narrowband nonlinear CPFSK signals employ the average modulation index havg=1/N (N is the number of states). The distance results and spectral properties of narrowband nonlinear CPFSK signals are reported for havg=1/4, 1/8 and 1/16. It is concluded from the numerical results that the performance/bandwidth tradeoff of nonlinear CPFSK signals can be improved at lower bandwidths
