Abstract :
A G-Link transmitter card and a G-Link receiver card as SBus mezzanine cards were developed for an event builder system. The modules have a 32-bit×32 kbyte FIFO and can transmit/receive data at the rate of 100 Mbyte/sec. The data stream from the transmitter passes through a transparent switch network before it reaches receiver modules. Traffic control in the modules as well as in the switch network is done via an external port using Taxi chips in an external controller. The transmitters and the receivers can also be used for simple serial data links
