Abstract
The insulation ageing is related to the absolute age, the type, the history and the laying conditions of a network (sub) component. The processing of the information about condition assessment in combination with technical specifications as well as the history of maintenance actions is of importance in decision support for asset management. In this paper aspect of generic approach in use of database support for maintenance of distribution power cables is discussed. In particular the knowledge rules generation and datamining as important asset management tools are discussed in this paper.
