Abstract :
A semi-analytic gain-clamping algorithm for the deeply saturated, multi-pump fiber Raman amplifier (FRA) is proposed. Utilizing parameters from the steady state conditions, the gain excursion below 0.5 dB (up to 78/80 channel drop, +5 dBm/channel) can be achieved within milliseconds time scale.
