Abstract :
This paper represents a novel structure of variable speed drive for electrical submersible pump induction motor control. The proposed structure includes control rectifier, flywheel electrical storage device and Z-source inverter. This new variable speed drive structure allows providing continuous operation of ESP motor during input voltage sags and short-term power outage. To control Z-source inverter Maximum Boost control method was proposed. Simulation result is represented to demonstrate the new features.
