Abstract
A data smoothing technique to reduce the noise content in a signal is presented. This technique uses wavelet theory where a complete set of orthonormal wavelets can represent any signal with minimum redundancy. Simulated noisy data as well as measured data with unknown noise characteristics are considered to validate the applicability of the presented technique
