Abstract :
The last couple of decades, an impressive growth of data lead to considerable amount of energy consumed by IT. However, the idea that data centers are one of the major factors contributing to this energy demand is correct but needs to be considered under certain context. In the scenario that data centers will not integrate efficient usage of Software and Hardware into a single place, the energy consumed might be even higher. Therefore, we acknowledge the increase in energy consumed by data centers in a centralized location but we also advocate that having distributed and individual IT would increase even more the energy consumption.
