Abstract :
In the last few years, there has been a resurgence of interest in continuous-time model identification and estimation. The main aim of this paper is to demonstrate the advantages of the Refined Instrumental Variable method for Continuous-time model identification and estimation (RIVC) in the areas of model order reduction and large computer model emulation. Such emulation models are based on a set of reduced order models, whose parameters are mapped to the parameters of the large model so that the emulation model can act as a surrogate for the large model in applications such as sensitivity analysis, forecasting and control system design.
