Abstract :
This paper presents a particle swarm optimized sliding-mode controller for a Buck Converter operating in continuous conduction mode requiring a fast dynamical response over a wide range of operating conditions. The sliding coefficients of the controller are optimized by using Modified Particle Swarm Optimization (PPSO). The various aspects of the controller, which includes choice of sliding surface and existence condition, are presented. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the optimized controller under line and load variations.
