Abstract
In this paper, a new cyclic-shifted preamble scheme is proposed for symbol synchronization in wireless local area networks (WLANs) which are based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). The performance of the proposed method is presented in terms of mean and mean-square error (MSE) obtained by simulations. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme with low hardware complexity has a significantly improved performance than the other methods when signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) increases
