Abstract :
The minimum mean squared error (MMSE) detectors have been widely explored in previous work for CDMA communications. In this paper, we discuss several algorithms for MMSE detection of block CDMA signals with spatial and temporal diversities. The emphasis is on the cyclic reduction algorithm for MMSE detection, in which the number of matrix inversions and matrix multiplications is bounded by O(log/sub 2/(L/d)d/sup 3/) in contrast with O(L(d+1)/sup 2/) of the Cholesky decomposition based algorithm, where L is number of symbols per user for one burst and (d+1) is the length of signature waveforms counted by symbol duration.
