Abstract :
A new-generation system with improved sensors for rubber calendering measurement and control has been introduced. The sensors are based on improvements in X-ray technology and signal-processing advances. A key feature is the capability to measure and count individual wires in the fabric. By alerting the operator when crossed wires occur or missing wires occur, the system can improve fabric quality. More accurate sensors and faster response speeds make possible tighter control loops and more uniform fabric
