Abstract :
An equivalent circuit model, which takes into account the resonances of higher modes beyond the fundamental one, of a rectangular microstrip patch antenna is developed. The model is based on the broad-band transmission line model, and can be constructed to account for as many higher modes as it is desirable. Its good accuracy is proved after comparison with a full-wave analysis simulation program.
