Abstract :
This volume contains the proceedings of the 2005 Symposium on Point-Based Graphics, held June 21-22 in Stony Brook, New York, USA. This is the second yew of PBG, and have seen a variety of approaches that demonstrate the quality, flexibility, and efficiency of point-based primitives. The Symposium brings together researchers from a variety of backgrounds for focused discussion and presentation of new results, and the papers in these proceedings cover a range of topics from acquisition to geometry and rendering. We received 30 papers this year, and each was reviewed by members of our 42-strong international program committee. The final selection made by the chairs was to accept 15 high-quality papers for presentation. We thank all the committee members and reviewers for donating their time and effort towards the goal of ensuring the best possible review process. Our program this year also includes keynote presentations by Kari Pulli and Nina Amenta. We greatly appreciate their support of this event, and look forward to their presentations. This year, FBG is being held as part of the Stony Brook Graphics Week, together with Computer Graphics International (CGI) and the International Workshop on Volume Graphics (VG).
