Abstract
Several circuit topologies have the characteristic that a capacitor at high voltage is directly transformer coupled to the low voltage output giving a capacitor multiplying effect. The use of these converters for supplying low voltage pulsed loads is investigated. The need for ultralow leakage inductance transformers is shown, and the development of these transformers is described. The effect of packaging and an equivalent circuit model is described. Experimental results from a 350 W peak, 10 V output converter with energy storage at 100 volts are given
