Abstract :
Creative Industries originated from developed countries in the late 1990s, and are just unfolding in China nowadays. In the era of the knowledge economy, creative industries have done a great deed for both promoting economic growth and enhancing cultural soft power. On one hand, heat waves brought about by creative economy are influencing model of economic development in Chinese different areas at an unprecedented speed. On the other hand, they are making innovation on the people´s traditional concept and thinking pattern quietly. The paper analyzes the validity of intellectual property protection on creative industries, from the view angles of inheriting traditional culture, boosting hi-tech innovation and avoiding market risk. Based on these analyses, the paper illustrates the status quo on the development of creative industries in Xi´an and each link of value chain. In the end, the paper puts forward all-dimensional countermeasures for perfecting intellectual property protection of creative industries in Xi´an covering government, enterprises and individuals.
