Abstract :
In this paper, an OFDM scheme for image transmission is proposed. The scheme is based on unequal cyclic time guard (UTG) of conventional OFDM. The performance of the UTG_OFDM is compared with the conventional OFDM. The results show better performance of the former at lower average cyclic extension period. To enhance the performance at lower signal-to-noise ratio, convolution coding is combined with the OFDM method, where unequal error protection (UEP) is overlayed the UTG_OFDM scheme. The results show remarkable improvement in image quality compared to the equal error protection (EEP) with equal time guard over multipath channels.
