Abstract :
In this paper, a study is made on the use of a special type of base function near edges on perfectly electrically conducting (PEC) bodies. By using these base functions in the method of moments, rapid converging results are obtained. The method, using the magnetic field integral equation (MFIE) and point matching, is applied to a thin finite cylinder with flat end caps. A comparison is made between the results obtained with the classical thin wire approximation and our method.
