Abstract :
In this contribution, a simple but effective attachment mode for the analysis of wire to plate junction structures is presented. The wire elements are connected to the surface metallic areas through the center of a relevant mesh cell. Up to four half roof-top functions are defined on the sides of this cell to correctly model the current flowing from the wire, and spreading through out the plate. Results are presented for various monopole antennas excited over finite metallic plates or cubes. In spite of being simple, the results obtained show that the attachment mode indeed works well even for wire antennas closed to edge corners.
