Abstract :
Cloud computing technologies occupy an important place in today´s digital environment as they offer to the user attractive benefits such as file storage and renting virtual machines. In this context, at the datacenter level, we need a unified framework that permits reliable virtual and physical resource management, having in the same time the possibility for digital forensic investigators to access the data. Even though we have ready-to-use solutions that are already applied to the cloud resource allocation part, we lack the software infrastructure needed for conducting a digital forensic investigation. In this paper we will present the foundation of our proposed cloud forensics framework, that aims to resolve and unify into a single entity the two issues mentioned before. We will present in detail the architecture and the modifications needed to be made in order to create a digital forensic compliant framework.
