Abstract
View-based 3D object retrieval is an emerging research topic that has numerous geographic-related applications in many fields, such as computer-aided design (CAD) and virtual city navigation. This article briefly introduces the recent research progress in view-based 3D object retrieval by reviewing advances and identifying challenges in this field.
