Abstract :
In a digital environment that is now present in tourism and tourist transport, information and reservation systems are the basis for the realization of businesses. Besides reducing operating costs and 24-hour service availability, an additional benefit can be seen in dynamic pricing of services. Airlines first noticed the advantages of information-communication technologies (ICTs) and developed a whole new concept of business in the form of low-cost airlines (LCAs). LCA tourists have to use information technologies in order to use LCA services, therefore it is expected that the Internet usage of low-cost airline tourists significantly differs from the Internet usage of average tourists. Over the last several years Zadar County has strongly encouraged low-cost airlines to link its airport with as many European destinations as possible, which enabled the connection with remote outbound markets and the increase of city breaks tourism. This paper will show the results of a research which was conducted on a sample of 900 low-cost airline (LCA) tourists and 1697 average tourists who stayed in Zadar County. Different methods of descriptive statistics were used in order to determine and compare the level of usage of information technologies of these two types of tourists.
