Abstract :
To solve the problems of free-riding and tragedy of the common problems in peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, we firstly analyze the reason of the free-riding problem. Secondly, we investigate three typical incentive mechanisms and discuss their advantages and disadvantages individually. Finally, we introduce an incentive mechanism based on the Hybrid war model into the P2P-based Video on Demand System (VOD). The simulation result proves that the proposal is practical and feasible.
