Abstract :
The emergence of coverage holes is unavoidable in wireless sensor networks. In this letter, a novel method for describing coverage holes graphically is proposed. Our proposed graphic hole description is divided into two phases, namely, coverage hole detecting and coverage hole describing. Simulation results show that the proposed graphic hole description indicates not only the locations and configurations of holes but also the vulnerable parts in holes. Besides, the graphic description can serve as a useful tool for healing coverage holes.
