Abstract
The work in process reported here points the way toward eliminating the use of abstract mathematics in teaching electromagnetics, and minimizing its use in the literature as well. The work has led to what appears to be a newly conceived basic point source of electromagnetic fields. The descriptions obtained for its fields indicate that this point source should quickly replace the Hertzian dipole in its use for both explanation and analysis
