Abstract
Summary form only given. We have been investigating the communication performance of dispersion managed solitons using a recirculating loop that contains one period of our dispersion map. By going to a wider bandwidth filter we propagated temporally shorter pulses that combined with our map parameters produced dispersion managed soliton propagation. The narrower filter produced longer pulses that were more like traditional solitons that had decreased communication performance.
