Abstract :
Bistable systems (BS) have been used in weak signal detection in the context of stochastic resonance (SR), where the BS is considered as a stochastic resonator and the detector is called BS-SR detector. To achieve a good performance, a tuning technique is often used to obtain the BS parameters. In this paper, we first show that BS detectors are sometimes wrongly termed as SR detectors. We then propose a novel design methodology of the BS-SR detector that works at the SR regime.
