Method of image fusion for apple surface quality detection

Surface quality detection of apples has been absolutely indispensable in the apple production and processing nowadays. A new method, image fusion, was introduced to get more visible defect information. In the research, both of the visual images and infrared images of apples were obtained and fused based on wavelet transform fusion methods. The image acquisition and processing system was designed for the apple defects detection. Besides, a series of experiments were carried out on apples as models.
