Abstract
In very different areas of science and engineering, the response of a certain system after excitation can be considered as a sum of exponentials. When analyzing these signals not only the parameters but the order of the model have to be estimated. The authors present an improved spectroscopic technique specially suited for this purpose. Time domain processing and the iterative nature of the proposed algorithm are the main features
