Abstract
The aim of this paper is to study the performance of a single-phase PIC (programmable integrated circuit) controlled sinusoidal PWM inverter driving a single-phase induction motor (with starting capacitor) at various load conditions (3/4 of load and full load). The control was implemented in such a way that it allowed the change in the motor speed via a PIC. The attractiveness of this configuration is the elimination of a microcomputer to generate sinusoidal PWM pulses. The PIC is able to store all the commands to generate the necessary waveforms to control the amplitude and time of such pulses for the inverter
